Pete & Chick MacLoghlin enjoyed a magical day of skiing with Barry Diceman in ideal conditions, dry powder snow, clear blue skies with the sun shining on the snow laden trees, however the air temperature was
-17 C causing the fluid to freeze in the lines of our Camel Packs! We arrived at the parking lot at 10:15 & skied a 10 km loop starting east on Beaver to Trillium, north on Trillium to Wolf & the Tanney Cabin, after Tanney headed south on Owl to Kawartha ,where we met Peter Hamley ski patrolling, then back to the parking lot at 1:40. Trillium is fairly flat, Kawartha has more variety in the terrain with nice dips to ski up & down. From the bottom, Photo #1 was taken on Beaver as we were heading towards Trillium, photo #2 shows Chick skiing up the final slope on Beaver where it meets Trillium, photo #3 is at the junction of Trillium & Wolf, photo #4 inside Tanney shows Pete thawing his drink, Photo #5- BarryDiceman, Pete MacLoghlin ,& Peter Hamley. We had lunch in the Honey Pot restaurant at Woodview, 5 km south of KNSC.Barry is planning to ski on Tues Dec 23rd so contact him if you would like to join him. I am planning to ski on Tues Jan 6, Barry is away.
